'Fleeting Moments' is based on the fleeting moments that one encounters during the day from dawn to dusk. Most of the paintings are done either from memory or a quick sketch whilst on my morning walk. Others are done from painting directly from nature.

The 'Edward Heffernan Memorial Drawing Prizes' are awarded in honour of Edward Heffernan, past president of VAS from 1977 to 1980. He served on the VAS Council for 12 years and was also awarded the Distinguished VAS Service Award, Honorary life Membership, VAS Fellowship and the Order of Australia Medal for his services to Arts.

VAS tutor Ray Wilson VAS FVAS will demonstrate impressionism in oil from still life. The arrangement will be chosen based on colour, tone and form using reflective surfaces. The technique will focus on colour matching, reflections and metallic surfaces utilising a mix of Meldrum impressionism methods and a direct approach.

Visual Artist Mandy Bell and Graeme Oliver (who also sculpts), are exhibiting artwork completed during 'Covid Times'. They are accompanied by 2 guest artists Hannah Russell and George Eustice. The artwork is Contemporary and offers a diverse subject range with both recent and treasured artworks from their individual work practices.
This exhibition will be available to view from 12:00pm 20 April until 1:00pm 10 May.
