His employment ranged from the Note Printing Branch where he engraved by hand Australia's first Christmas stamp in 1957, through to art teaching positions and conducting his own classes in oils and water colours. He was a longtime member of the Victorian Artists Society.
At the time of his passing, Donald Cameron was planning one final exhibition. His wife Audrey Cameron is celebrating her 100th birthday this August, and has requested one remaining wish: to fulfil Donald's dream to hold a retrospective exhibition showcasing his life and work. The work will be curated and exhibited by his son Ian Cameron.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
