Spotlights is a showcase-style exhibition highlighting seven artists each in their own dedicated wall space to present a cohesive body of work. Running across two sessions, Spotlights offers visitors an intimate encounter with a range of voices and practices in a single gallery space.

Ian Armstrong: Familial lines

Familial Lines is a selection of family portraits by Ian Armstrong (1923-2005), focusing particularly on his daughter Maggie. The exhibition offers the viewer a rare insight into Armstrong’s many styles and varied use of the visual medium, applied to a single theme.

Sarah Ackland: Journey with the Pencil

Journey with the Pencil is a body of artwork that was born out of the desire to improve Sarah’s understanding of tone. Something that started off as a study of tone to improve her watercolour painting, became a passion and a collection of detailed drawings of mostly trees, landscapes and botanical work in graphite.

Unspoken

Neil Miley: Past, Present and Future

Neil Miley presents a 20 x 20 series of oil paintings welcoming a reflection on the interrelationships between past, present and future. Each work attempts to investigate that relationship in a manner that treats past, present and future with equal importance.

2026 AGRA Annual Exhibition

Realist and representational art will be celebrated at the 2026 AGRA Annual Exhibition. The 50 year-old Australian Guild of Realist Artists (AGRA) was started by artists such as Kenneth Jack, Kath Ballard and eight times Archibald winner Sir William Dargie.

VAS Edward Heffernan Drawing Exhibition 2026

The 'Edward Heffernan Memorial Drawing Prizes' are awarded in honour of Edward Heffernan, past president of VAS from 1977 to 1980. He served on the VAS Council for 12 years and was also awarded the Distinguished VAS Service Award, Honorary life Membership, VAS Fellowship and the Order of Australia Medal for his services to Arts.
