The You Yangs is a series of granite ridges 319 m above above the flat low lying
Werribee Plain. It is a very inspirational area for artists to visit and paint.
Living at Newport all my life I have frequented this area since I was a young boy with my parents, and for many years as a painter. I have always been interested by the way the granite tors expose themselves from the hard dry vegetation.
Fred Williams is known for his paintings of the You Yangs which I was fortunate enough to see at the Geelong Gallery. Very interesting the way he expressed the harshness of the landscape.
This is a selection of my paintings I have put together from my latest visits to the area.

We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
