The works in this exhibition started with a grapevine cutting; and over time went through various stages as the plant grew. This presented an opportunity to paint it in all its changing aspects.
As I progressed my paintings became more abstract, and my interpretation of the subject changed as the plant was exploring its own environment in the garden.
On completion of the project, I had around 150 paintings that reflected my interaction with the changes that occurred to the plant and how the direction of my art also changed in the interpretation of the image, and this was like a breath of fresh air.
The difficulty was selecting a limited number of works that stood for the process of the final choice for this exhibition.
