Meet the Artists 2pm Sunday October 26
Location: VAS Gallery

In 1918 our rebellious founding members stormed out of the VAS in protest at Max Meldrum being unseated as VAS president. The TMPS has flourished ever since as a unique body of professional artists. Even today our members can trace their connections to our founding members and the Meldrum School.
Following 2024's "Return to Albert St", the 107th Annual Exhibition showcases the present TMPS members’ work in the stunningly renovated VAS Galleries. View and purchase from the online exhibition catalogue below and scroll down to RSVP for free demonstrations held in the gallery.
All are welcome to join us for free demonstrations by David Taylor and Herman Pekel, however seating will be limited. Please RSVP to ensure you have a seat for these demonstrations. You will need to enter your name and may select to reserve for 1-4 attendees.
Please also note that for David Taylor's demonstration on Sunday October 26, doors will open at 9.30am. A Meet the Artists afternoon, for which there is no need to RSVP, will be held at 2pm on the same day.
The TMPS is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious arts organisations reaching its centenary in 2018. It occupies a unique position in Australian art in that membership is restricted to 20 and is upon invitation only. Many distinguished artists have been members of the group and contributed to its colourful history. The society maintains a strong commitment to the traditions of realist, tonal and impressionist painting.

We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
