Pei, hailing from Shanghai, China, grew up by the canals. The awe-inspiring nature of the Dandenong Ranges in Victoria deeply moved her and provided artistic inspiration. Through her artworks, you can feel the breath of the four seasons in the mountains and touch the soul of the colour transitions in the southern hemisphere.
Pei engages in a dialogue with maple and eucalyptus trees, empathizing with their prosperity and desolation through her brushstrokes.
White cockatoos are carefree epicureans and mischief-makers. This is attributed to the harmonious coexistence of humans and nature in their environment. Their playful demeanours are portrayed vividly by the artist.
In those days emphasizing 'social distance,' she, with a unique perspective and expressive lines, reflects on the beautiful connections of human love and family bonds in her works.
Pei excels in uncovering the subtleties and delicacies entailed in the wild aesthetics of the southern hemisphere. Her works are filled with beauty and emotion, encompassing both anticipation and scrutiny of the future.
