Breathing salty air, or hearing the quiet rustle of the bush, feeling the sun on your face. These are the some of the many sensory experiences I hope to evoke through this collection. Every work in this show has been painted outside. I have painted knee-deep in icy water, been bucked by an angry sheep, eaten alive by sandflies, rained on, windblown and sunburnt, all in the pursuit of light. I have also been at peace amongst the undergrowth, in open-mouthed awe at the ephemeral beauty of a sunset. This is our natural world seen through my eyes, my brushes. I hope it sparks something in you.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
