The AGRA 50th Anniversary Exhibition offers more than $5000 worth of prizes including collectable works by historic founding artists such as Kenneth Jack and Kath Ballard and is open to full membersThe guild was formed 50 years ago by founders which include eight-times Archibald winner Sir William Dargie.

The AGRA Founders Award for Best In Show will provide $1000 to the winning artist and is named in honour of these historic figures.

After being rescued from closure last year the guild has now taken a nation-wide direction and provides full-colour glossy hard-copy magazines to members. The next 50th Anniversary edition of The AGRA Magazine is due out shortly.

The nation-wide direction fulfils the aim of Kenneth Jack who originally came up with the name The Australian Guild of Realist Artists 50 years ago. An exhibition and survey of Kenneth Jack’s work will be held in the Cato Gallery.

This caring community of artists aims to promote education and excellence in all forms of Realist Art. This 50th Anniversary Exhibition offers opportunities for artists in all mediums with multiple awards and prizes. It also offers workshops by David Chen, Lyn Mellady and Grace Paleg with a demonstration by Julian Bruere.
