The work that I will be presenting will be paintings and drawings of the landscape in the area not far from were I live in FernTree Gully.
For the past fifty years my vocation has always been to study the ordinary physical world of light, form and space and transfigure it into the metaphysical world of contemporary pictorial language. In the existential presence of the landscape there is a subliminal order that integrates the contents of its space and defines its reality. As an artist I strive to distil its structure and give it my interpretation and expression. I have been a member of VAS for the past thirty years and have had a few solo exhibitions there as well as in many in private galleries. I studied at the National Gallery art school 1968 to 1971 and have worked consistently painting and drawing since.
