Meet the Artists 11am Sunday 25 October. Demonstrations to be announced

The TMPS is thrilled to return to the Victorian Artists Society Galleries for our 108th annual exhibition.

In 1918 our rebellious founding members stormed out of the VAS in protest at Max Meldrum being unseated as VAS president. The TMPS has flourished ever since as a unique body of professional artists. Even today our members can trace their connections to our founding members and the Meldrum School.

Following 2024's "Return to Albert St", the 108th Annual Exhibition showcases the present TMPS members’ work in the stunningly renovated VAS Galleries. View and purchase from the online exhibition catalogue below and scroll down to RSVP for free demonstrations held in the gallery.

The TMPS is one of Australia’s oldest and most prestigious arts organisations reaching its centenary in 2018. It occupies a unique position in Australian art in that membership is restricted to 20 and is upon invitation only. Many distinguished artists have been members of the group and contributed to its colourful history. The society maintains a strong commitment to the traditions of realist, tonal and impressionist painting.

Acknowledgment of traditional owners.

We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
