I'm fascinated by the camouflage employed by the Red Capped Plovers who nest on the beach near my home on the Bellarine. I also wanted to make a statement about both the resilience and fragility of Nature.
For the background, I soaked beach finds in thinned paint and dropped them onto a canvas laid flat. When dried and brushed off. they left residual fascinating markings. I then mimicked such markings when painting the eggshell.
