I have lived opposite the southern coast of Port Phillip staring over it toward Melbourne for many years. I am finally using the sea and sky, wind and water daily atmospheric changing conditions as inspiration for my oils on canvas! I've been developing particular techniques for achieving sea sparkles. And a strong sense of horizon dominates my work. As the sun rises over the bay the light on the water changes almost every minute. This is one of three paintings to capture different atmospheric conditions I have recently painted. It represents a more monochromatic path in my art to simplify the interaction of light and water surface texture.
