At one stage during the lockdown period in Melbourne the only outdoor activity was essential shopping and exercise. This painting is from one of our morning walks at Fairfield Park; the Fairfield Park area is great for walking with very little road traffic and plenty of scenic views. Due to its close proximity to where we live it is great for walking our two dogs. I tried to capture the solitude and eeriness of the mist as it lay across the grass on this May morning in 2020. Watching the mist fade as the winter sun warmed the earth also gave us hope that the virus would do the same.
