This small oil painting depicts Louisa (Lulu) Jones, née Nathan, private bathroom in the historical Ripponlea Estate. During a tour of the house, the tour guide pointed out that the door to her bathroom had a special cavity where Lulu would deposit her jewellery at the end of an evening of entertaining. A head servant or butler, would then retrieve the jewellery and return it to the safe. I thought that was really cool, and I liked the green of the bathroom, so I painted it.
