A portrait in mixed media. The robe and frame symbolise and represent insights into the sitter's personality and background. There's a contrast between the formal gold frame and abstract mixed media robe. The frame represents traditional and conservative ideals that have been passed on through previous family generations. The robe in contrast is playful and quirky and shows a contemporary and indervidual view of the world which very different to the family and is owned entirely by the sitter
