My fascination with trees and their roots continues. This piece is an addition to a tree series that seems to be growing. I came up with the title Walking Tree Standing Still as a response to the last tree root drawing that I completed that was titled Walking Tree. The tree in this drawing is also a walking tree, but has found a place of rest in the rocky outcrops. Will it move again? Is it just resting? Will it walk to a different spot in rocky outcrops? Or is it happy with it's new place in the forest? The reference photo is from my own library. I probably took the photo on a walk up in the Dandenongs as usual, I played with the drawing and got lost in the detail and only using the photo as a rough guide. This drawing is framed with 100% archival materials and is drawn on Saunders watercolour hot pressed paper (300gsm) which is also 100% archival.
