This was a fun little gumnut study to work on. I have drawn a much larger version of this in the past. The drawing was worked on from a reference photo as a guide. I was attracted to the texture of the gumnuts and the shape of the gumnut cluster. This piece is drawn in graphite on Saunders Hot press watercolour paper 300gsm and is mounted to a wooden panel that has been sealed with acrylic paint. It has been fixed with a fixative and then cold wax varnished over the top.
