I am fascinated by trees and tree roots, but then again I am fascinated and inspired by most things I see in nature. The different textures and the different directions that tree branches and this case tree roots grow in. They are all completely unique and no tree is the same, much like how no human is the same. Nature really does provide the artist a smorgasbord of ideas to work with.
Artwork is drawn on paper that is mounted onto primed panel. The panel was primed with an acrylic paint to protect the artwork from the acids that come from the wood that it is mounted onto, therefore making the piece archival. Artwork was then varnish with a cold wax.
