St Paul's Reflection

This painting is to capture the atmosphere of St Paul's church in Melbourne, focusing on the light and the personal moment I'm having. Two weeks after attending church, I worked on multiple drafts, and from those, I developed three large A1 watercolour pieces, experimenting with perspective and distance. The final piece combines a view of the church's corner with an intimate moment, highlighting the contrast between the grand setting and my personal experience. I'd love for viewers to feel the peace and contemplation that comes with it and sense the special feeling of having God watching over me in this spiritual moment. The verse "Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you" resonates with me, and I'm hoping to convey that sense of connection with God, feeling His presence, and experiencing a spiritual connection through prayer and faith.
