This digital artwork is an imaginary piece I created in Adobe Illustrator.
The inspiration came from seeing some beautiful photographs of fields of lavender in France and forests of silver birches in Finland. I also have fond memories of a large silver birch tree growing in in my mothers garden in Oakleigh East when I was little. I was fascinated by the papery bark, golden leaves in autumn and the myriads of catkins in summer.
The flowers and the leaves were drawn using dots of colour to give an ethereal effect
This is a limited edition A2 archival print of my original digital drawing.
It was printed on Illford Galerie 310gsm cotton rag paper.
The image is available in limited editions from A4 to A1 in size.
