Jennifer Fyfe in collaboration with VAS presents Imprint, a four-week program that combines art, storytelling, and song. This immersive event brings together a diverse group of scholars, artists, and creatives to explore the deep connection between visual art and narrative. Experience storytelling through paint, print, and performance with a variety of exhibitions, events, and workshops.
At the heart of the program is the major exhibition, descript by Jennifer Fyfe. Spanning the upper galleries at VAS throughout the four-week imprint event, Fyfe presents a body of work created over five years. These artworks are a combination of vintage texts, oil paintings and community stories told in oil paint, ink, and braille. Displayed with accessibility in mind, the artworks are complemented by two installations designed to inspire visitor interaction and discussion.
The lower galleries will showcase solo exhibitions and artist book launches from artists Erica Wagner, Lucy Fekete and Marketa Kemp. Alongside these exhibitions, artist-led workshops, free author events, a trivia night, and a one-day symposium will explore storytelling across different artistic mediums. A highlight of the program will be An Evening with Kate Ceberano, a true creative powerhouse, in conversation with award winning portrait artist Desiree Crossing. The event will culminate in a special finale with novelist and poet Maria Takolander, and rising singer-songwriter Sunday Stone.
The Imprint Supporter Package offers all in one priority access to events and program highlights, along with a copy of Jennifer Fyfe's stunning exhibition book and additional perks. Workshop participation is booked separately, and events can also be booked individually.
Imprint promises to be an inspiring month of creative exploration. Don’t miss this opportunity to connect, learn, and experience storytelling in its many forms!
