I live on Flinders Island in Tasmania. Ella’s paddock at Palana, in my small home village, is a true wombat city. They roam happily in and out of it. Often also crossing the road, and are a constant reminder for motorists to be extra vigilant of our precious wildlife; not only wombats, but also wallabies, pheasants and other creatures that live at Palana. I do believe I have captured the essence of Ella, her facial expressions so very telling of her protective instincts of the wombats of the island.
