This work was inspired by ‘Shearing the Rams’ painting by Tom Roberts and a paint-out trip to the Grampians with VAS back in 2022. We spent a day painting at a wonderful farm in Mooralla to the west of the Grampians. the farm owners were most welcoming and gracious with us, gave a fascinating tour of their property. sheep shearing happened to run on the day, first time I’ve seen it in real life. I was grateful to have been taken on a tour inside the shearing shed to see the process. such a huge job for the shearers and the sheared…
