During an artists residency in Banff, Canada, I painted a series of large scale artworks in a light filled studio at the foot of the rocky mountain range. My aim was to capture the beauty and grandeur of the mountains and bright colours of the lakes (due to the high volumes of mineral content). I experimented with form and texture; allowing the white of the canvas to show through, and form the snow capped mountain peaks.
