The work titled ‘weekend walk’ captures an urban seascape on a favourite walk from Brighton to Elwood Beach, Vic. The grey cityscape appears faded in the background, contrasting against the aquas and greens of the water. The dark seaweed and rocks ground the painting, and take your eye across the lively sky to the tilted horizon line. I wanted to capture the feel of walking along the water’s edge in a typically Melbournian yet contemporary setting.
