I enjoy painting large scale Australian landscapes that capture the unique atmosphere of a place; with a focus on light, varying tones of colour and movement in the brushwork. The work captures a moment of winter light on the grass and shrubbery, in the sky and reflected in the water. The electric farm fence gives the work a contemporary dynamic, as does the slightly surreal looking lake. The work was painted on a friend’s stunning Estate in the Gippsland region, and captures the originality and optimism of winter light.
