Exploring with colour mixing, composition and brushwork is a pivotal part of my work. I aim to capture a variety of shades and tones, to show the subtlety and diversity of a painting. My work titled ‘Closing’ represents the closing of a leisurely day spent along the Mornington Peninsula. Bright sun beams reflect across the water, further illuminating the light after a hot summers’ day. I captured this image while my family were still swimming in the water (spotted as tiny silhouettes) against the vastness and grandeur of the sea.
