Aaron Hawton is a life model and home baker, and was a finalist in the Great Australian Bake Off in 2022.In this portrait session, Aaron wore a laurel wreath and soft, toga‑like garments. I aimed to capture the serene and classically inspired mood using boldly applied paint to give the work an expressive and tactile quality. The warm, muted background and the brass and copper vessels behind Aaron add an ancient and contemplative atmosphere.
