Last night the Victorian Artists Society held the official opening of the VAS Watercolour Exhibition and VAS President Mark Bagally FVAS presented awards to the winning artists.
The winner of the VAS Watercolour Exhibition was Des Parkin.
The Curator's Award was presented to Ben Winspear VAS.
Highly Commended Awards were announced for Amanda Hyatt, Nina Volk, Lynn Banna, and Lisa Wang.
Congratulations are extended to the winning artists and all Victorian Artists Society member artists who participated in the VAS Watercolour Exhibition.
The VAS Watercolour Exhibition was curated by VAS President Mark Bagally FVAS.
The Judge for the VAS Watercolour Exhibition was Rob Candy.
Born in Melbourne. Candy began painting watercolours at Ku-ring-gai Arts Centre during the 1980's with Owen Thompson, and at the Royal Art Society of New South Wales with Frederic Bates OAM. He has a degree in Geography and this informs his analysis of and appreciation for the landscape.
Candy is the current President of the Watercolour Society of Victoria ( 2019- ).
He is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute since 2005, Associate Member of the Royal Art Society of NSW, and a member of the Victorian Artists Society. Candy has judged many art shows including the Camberwell Art Show, and the Lane Cove Art Society, NSW.
