Inspired by a tree I walk past often, “Symbiosis” explores the quiet, unseen partnerships that sustain life. Influenced by the intricate textures of wandoo bark, the artwork layers warm earth tones with cooler accents to echo the exchange between strength and vulnerability, age and renewal. At the centre, a small procession of eight ants symbolises cooperation, persistence, and balance; their number also alludes to the infinity symbol, suggesting the ongoing cycles of life. Organic lines and flowing forms suggest roots, veins and pathways, inviting viewers to reflect on how our own lives are interwoven—with nature, with each other, and with the stories we carry within.
