Venice itself is totally inspirational. The medieval architecture, the light playing off the water, the history, and it's spirit are all so captivating and enchanting. The challenge is to successfully recreate the beauty on the canvas. I hoped to capture the midday light on the canal as it played across the buildings and lit up the Venetian roofscape.
