An original oil painting of a moonscape housed in an antique Italian florentine wooden plaque with gold gilt, in the shape of a diamond.
My paintings on ‘florentine plaques’ emulate the Renaissance tradition, inlaid with intricate gilt designs on wood. These plaques arrive to me in various states and are generally sanded and primed to house a modern painting on their inner panels (noted on each listing). These historical decorative plaques have been brought new life, imitating the 1865 Museum of Decorative Arts in the Bargello, where Victorian tourists would visit to purchase their own piece of Florence.
