Living in the quiet corners of Wurundjeri Country in Victoria, Australia.
A blend of archaeologist (PhD), artist, and diver, wandering the landscapes where history meets the sea.
Amidst the ancient ruins and the waves, I've carried my sketchbook and watercolours across the world, trying to capture moments under the unforgiving sun or the soft glow of dawn. As my excavations and journeys unfolded, so did my art, transitioning from watercolours and an ink pen to strokes of oil painting, inspired by the rugged coastal cliffs, ancient ruins and pottery from the Bronze and Iron Ages. The transition to oil plein air painting in the early months of 2023 marked a profound shift in my artistic expression, it came naturally, and quite honestly took over my life.
In the warmth of summer, I dive into the depths of Port Phillip Bay, to try and understand the secrets of the Great Southern Ocean. I believe my appreciation for the sea is reflected in my maritime-inspired works.
I have artwork in international research institutes in the Middle East (W.F Albright Institute of Archaeological Research) and a variety drawings and illustrations published in academic journals and manuscripts.
I am drawn to the mystical paintings of Ferdinand Knab (1834-1902) and the unforgiving seascapes of Ivan Aivazovsky (1817-1900)- as well as modern tonalists such as W.P Stork.
Always eager to explore new horizons, please reach out for commissions or inquiries regarding archaeological illustration and fine art pieces.
