A Nnew

ANnew (Elizabeth A W Sigston) is a Melbourne-based artist whose work fuses vibrant acrylics, symbolic realism, and the interplay between realism and abstraction. After a distinguished career as a doctor and surgeon, Elizabeth returned to painting in 2022, using art as a path to healing and self-discovery. Her practice is defined by bold colour, layered symbolism, and a celebration of resilience and hope.

Choosing the artist name “ANnew”—a creative reimagining of her middle names—Elizabeth signals a return to her artistic roots and a renewed embrace of her creative spirit.

Predominantly self-taught, she has enriched her skills through studies in glazing and abstraction with the Malvern Artist Society. Her work has been exhibited with the Malvern Artist Society and the Camberwell Art Show, earning the Emerging Artist Prize at the 2025 MAS Autumn Exhibition and multiple commendations.

A member of the Victorian Artists Society since October 2025, ANnew invites viewers to pause, reflect, and discover their own meaning within each piece.
