Winner of the 2021 VAS Autumn Select Exhibition President's Prize
Last night the Victorian Artists Society officially opened the 2021 VAS Autumn Select Exhibition and presented the President’s Prize and VAS Council Sculpture Prize.
Autumn is the first VAS Select Exhibition with member votes going towards the Artist of the Year for 2021.
The winner of the 2021 VAS Autumn Select Exhibition President's Prize was Gwendoline Krumins VAS for her oil painting titled 'Senescence.'
The VAS Council Sculpture Prize was presented to Fred Toumayan VAS for his sculpture titled 'My Mother'.

The Judge for the VAS Autumn Select Exhibition was Colin Johnson.
Colin Johnson studied Painting and Drawing initially at Toorak Teachers' College, followed by studies at Caulfield Institute of Technology and Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.

Colin has on numerous occasions been the Chairman and member of the Judging Panel of the nationally prestigious Herald Sun Camberwell Rotary Art Show. For over forty years he has also judged countless Art Shows for Art Societies throughout Australia as well as the Box Hill Rotary Art Show, Mornington Rotary Art Show Sorrento Rotary Show, Victor Harbor Rotary Show and Chroma Acrylics National Art Awards.
Colin is a former Senior Lecturer in Painting, Drawing and Art Education, Deakin University. He is a former Guest Lecturer for the National Gallery Society of Victoria.
He has lectured in Painting, Drawing and Art Education at Melbourne College of Advanced Education, Carlton, Frankston Teachers' College and Victoria College Burwood – Deakin University. He is a former National Gallery Education Officer and continues to act as guest lecturer in Painting and Drawing for the Adult Education Centres and numerous Art Societies throughout Australia.
