The Same Ground reads as landscape and operates as psychology. This desert was rainforest millions of years ago, still cycling flood and drought beneath its dry surface, proof that apparent barrenness is never the whole geological truth.This resonates with a Jungian idea: conscious and unconscious are not separate territories but one continuous ground, the surface state simply what is currently visible. Growth, in this reading, is not escape from old terrain but its expansion. We meet the same issues again across a life, not because nothing has changed, but because we return each time with more capacity to hold them.
