Louise Foletta is an accomplished painter known for her mastery of watercolour and deep connection to the landscape. Her contribution to the arts has been decades of exhibiting internationally, winning numerous awards and judging national prizes. A passionate educator and dedicated artist, her practice reflects a deep and ongoing connection to the environment.
Inscape: Reflections of Land and Life brings together some of Louise’s most treasured works, celebrating a lifetime of artistic exploration. The exhibition invites viewers into the landscapes that have shaped her life, places where she has lived and witnessed great beauty and horrific tragedies, places she has traveled and studied intently and painted with care and precision.
Through her work, we glimpse moments in time, captured through close observation and emotional connection. From the devastating yet stunning 2009 bush fire series to the intricate studies of the wildflowers on Mt Cathedral to her layered, sweeping views of outback landscape, Louise renders the land in ways few others can.
This exhibition reveals not just the physical environment, but also Louise’s way of seeing and studying these places, quiet, attentive and deeply felt. Her paintings offer us a rare opportunity to witness the fragility, resilience and beauty of the land through an artist who has spent a lifetime immersed in it.

Which is witnessed through close observation and decades of study, teaching, and immersion, her work explores the resilience and fragility of the landscape.
