I am an artist who draws and paints. I draw in charcoal and paint in acrylic and Ian oils. I like to paint contemporary abstract paintings where mark making, pattern, shape, colour and brushwork. I like to use charcoal for figure drawing and developing larger works. However, plein aire painting is also of interest, as is still life and portrait. Whatever I paint or draw, I like to do it expressively.
I have drawn all my life, attended RMIT but worked as a high school teacher. I now now spend most of my my artistic life painting in my studio or painting landscape en plein aire. I attended life drawing with Yvonne Audette for many years and am still associated with the Melbourne Studio School, where my interested in contemporary work has been developed and fostered.
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
