Capturing the movement of air on the surfaces of the water and clouds; a clear sky rendered with minimal detail sits in contrast to the intricate, ever-changing patterns of the water below. Revealed through areas that are calm and glasslike, while others are gently stirred, creating a rhythm of stillness and motion. Painted on Lutruwita’s Tamar Island, Tasmania, a place of significant beauty, alive with birds, insects, and small animals, yet with a profound sense of quiet. I hope to offer viewers of my painting that same opportunity for reflection and slowing down, mirroring the experience of walking along the boardwalk and simply observing the natural world unfold.

Acknowledgment of traditional owners.

We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
