19:28 is the ninth in the series of paintings for the exhibit A Day of Light. My exhibit A Day of Light encapsulates the journey light takes every day across Australia. From the hills in Adelaide to a dark cabin window of a train in Ghan, each painting is inspired by a mere moment in time that I've experienced and yet over the years have lost the exact memory of. When I visit my home town in Cronulla, the beaches I grew up on are smaller, the tides higher, and the childhood dream of owning a coastal house washed away with the climate change that is destroying our beaches and landscapes. With my works, I hope to pause time, to capture these moments both for myself and for others so in 50 years from now people know exactly what we've destroyed. To do my part to slow this process, all works exhibited are made entirely from second hand or discarded materials, keeping art out of landfill.
