This exhibition is a collection of work comprising of landscapes, still life and the figure using a limited palette in the mediums of oils, ink and mixed media. Often the landscapes have been painted at the break of light and sunsets in the western suburbs of Melbourne. The drawings are from weekly ‘plein-air’ sketching in the Fitzroy Gardens, Melbourne. The figure paintings are from studies done in the Victorian Artists Society Studio.

Artists Statement
Born in Germany. Coming from an industrial drawing office background I have pursued my art education studying with Louis Kahan, Andre Sollier, Graham Thorley, John Yule and Margery Hummel-Bennett.

Five is ten - it began with a group of artist friends over a coffee and an idea in Tiamo’s and developed into an annual exhibition.  

Now 10 years and 9 shows on (we skipped a year!) we invite you to meet and explore our thoughts on painting and view the works, nibble some cheese, sip some wine and enjoy the indulgence of seeing up close and personal the brush marks and abrasions on paper or canvas that are each artist’s signature.

Five invite you and your friends to join them at the opening of their ninth exhibition to be held at the Victorian Artists Society Galleries on Sunday 20 October 2019 at 2.00pm.
