Familial Lines is a selection of family portraits by Ian Armstrong (1923-2005), focusing particularly on his daughter Maggie. The exhibition offers the viewer a rare insight into Armstrong’s many styles and varied use of the visual medium, applied to a single theme. Delve into Armstrong’s preoccupation with painting the human face and figure with emotion and honesty.

The 'Edward Heffernan Memorial Drawing Prizes' are awarded in honour of Edward Heffernan, past president of VAS from 1977 to 1980. He served on the VAS Council for 12 years and was also awarded the Distinguished VAS Service Award, Honorary life Membership, VAS Fellowship and the Order of Australia Medal for his services to Arts.
