It’s my first self-portrait painted strictly from life, drawn freehand with oil paint directly on canvas, modifying and adjusting on the go. I originally planned it as a study, which I exhibited at last year’s VAS Portrait Exhibition. My choice of canvas (medium grain linen) was appropriate for a study but too rough for fine portraiture. Anyway, I repainted it (on the same canvas) using my own approach to the oil glazing technique. You may see the details in the provided photos.
