Working with raw limestone allows you to connect with the natural world and draw inspiration from it. You'll experience the satisfaction of transforming a simple block of stone into a work of art.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some prior experience, this Limestone sculpture workshop promises to be an enriching, enjoyable and unique experience working alongside a professional Sculptor.

You will learn about the properties of limestone, including its texture, hardness, and the tools required to work with it and be guided through the process of conceptualising your sculpture from start to finish. Whether you have a specific design in mind or need assistance in developing one, the experienced teacher will provide support and suggestions to create your beautiful sculpture.

The class is designed to be beginner-friendly and supportive. You'll be encouraged to explore your artistic side and express yourself through your sculpture. Don't worry if you're new to sculpting; the teacher will ensure you feel comfortable and confident.

By the end of the workshop, you'll have completed your limestone sculpture.

This workshop will cover:

• Information about the characteristics and limitations of Limestone.

• How to get started when mapping out your sculpture.

• Navigating your way though the sculptural process and tackling a 3d image.

• Tools required to carve stone, and sealing products.

• Techniques to shape, carve and chisel your sculpture and the different textures that can be achieved.

• Handling tools, and approaching stone carving in a safe manner.

• Discussion about preparing and displaying your sculpture for exhibition.

• Dust masks

• Safety glasses

• Gloves - I recommend Ansell hyflex gloves which are available at supermarkets
