Ever wanted to landscape paint but didn’t know where to start? Want to improve your understanding of the visual world and how to translate that with oil paint?

Join VAS Teacher Robert Kelly to explore the local parks and street surrounding Victorian Artists Society and practice the discipline of plein air painting. 

We will cover a variety of topics including:

• Materials and set up

• Composition 

• Tones/values

• Colour

• Edges

• Paint application/quality 

The courses is primarily one on one critiques. With a few demonstrations/initial talks to commence the lessons, especially earlier in the course.

The aim of the course is to enhance our visual understanding of the world and how to replicate that in a realistic way through the medium of cool paint using traditional materials and techniques. By the end we should have the skills necessary to feel confident heading out into the world on our own painting adventures!
