Have you got a pile of rejected art on paper lurking in the corner of your studio? It seems a shame to toss that good paper into the green bin. Don’t toss it! Recycle, Reuse and Redraw on it.
Bring along any old drawings in any medium (or anything paper based) and spend Saturday morning (10am – 12pm) with Roger turning those rejected works into bespoke, custom, handmade paper. With his portable paper making setup he can turn anything that was paper (or card) into fresh, sheets of Dodgy paper unique to you!
After lunch Linda will take you through the techniques of drawing onto Dodgy paper using ink and marker pens. Learn how this unique support reacts to inks, marker pens and pencils. As part of her Dodgy Melbourne series on exhibition at VAS during the workshop you will explore city scenes as your drawing theme that afternoon.
The following day you will play with the paper you have made with Roger, creating and exploring your own themed drawings in ink. Linda will guide you through your selection, assist with composition and drawing techniques to turn your paper remains into new artworks.
Presented as part of Imprint: What Remains, this workshop complements Linda Weil's exhibition Dodgy Melbourne.
