One of my favourite areas of Victoria is East Gippsland. I was staying near Ensay and had ventured up a side track one evening and discovered this view looking to the west. I went back the next afternoon determined to make a series of quick studies of the scene. The last was a rapid colour note as the sun set with just the last glow still in the sky. This studio painting was completed from these studies.
