This drypoint etching was a class project. We were tasked with creating a piece of art which is inspired by another famous piece of art. Being a big fan of cinema, I chose to pay homage to one of my favourite films, David Fincher's Fight Club. The movie itself explores the art of filmmaking and specifically the process of splicing together images to tell a story. I took inspiration from this idea, by taking still scenes from throughout the movie and splicing them together to convey the narrative. How I've composed and presented these etchings is designed to represent a film strip.
