Former architect (graduate in 1992 in Paris), I moved to Australia 17 years ago.
After living in Melbourne for 10 years I'm now based in Sydney.
For the past 7 years, I have been a full time painter.
Originally from Paris and now based in Sydney, I'm a lifelong
artist and member of La Maison des Artistes in Paris since 1998
(https://www.artistescontemporains.org/artistes/fredericterreaux/).
After five years of architectural studies in Paris, I enjoyed a
successful 30-year international architectural career,
contributing over 1300 commissioned illustrations for more
than 120 clients (https://terreaux.com/).
In 2017, I returned to my artistic roots, completing short
courses at the National Art School and The Julian Ashton Art
School. Now a full-time painter, I approach my work using the
problem-solving skills from my design and architectural
background.
My artwork includes realistic Sydney cityscapes and narrative driven
portraits. Influenced by 17th-century realist painters and modern greats like Ben Aronson and Lucian Freud, I find timeless inspiration in
capturing contemporary life.
I believe in the enduring universality of painting techniques,
emphasizing that, while the act of painting remains constant,
it's the ever-changing world around us that provides an infinite
canvas for documentation
We would like to pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land on which our building stands, their leaders, past, present and emerging.
